Ruth asks…Are the strings I bought incompatible with/damaging my guitar?I recently bought a new Fender Strat (Mexican) and decided to restring it with a set of Ernie Ball regular slinky strings. When I was done restringing and went to tune the guitar, I noticed two things:
1. After tuning all the strings to their pitches, the tremolo bridge looked over-extended by probably a quarter of an inch
2. The force of the bridge pulling back on the strings would cause them to detune rather
